Testimonials

Dr. Hogg says that in the past sleep apnea was treated with either surgery or CPAP (constant positive airway pressure) machines. The CPAP machines although 100% effective are uncomfortable to wear and some studies have shown only 25-45% of the patients are actually successful with wearing the CPAP. As a result, doctors say, many CPAP machines end up in the closet.

Dear Dr. Hogg,

I did proceed with two different CPAP devices with absolutely no success. I simply could not tolerate the mask or oxygen tube up my nose. I continued with my evaluation of the Dental Appliance Mouth Piece.

Several months ago I contacted Dr. Hogg and proceeded to be fitted for the Tap 3 device. Several visits were required to insure a good fit. I can report that I have been very pleased, and I have been using this appliance every night for the past two months.

My wife reports that my very loud snoring has been eliminated and I no longer have this terrible thirst throughout the night. In addition, my nose is no longer clogged and I can breathe easy. I do wake up during the course of the night but quickly return to sleep. Also, I can tolerate the appliance in my mouth very well with no difficulty, I am able to install and remove the appliance instantly.

Dear Dr. Hogg,

This letter is to tell you how happy I am with the TAP oral device.

For years I snored so badly, no one would go on vacation with me. I didn't want to use a CPAP because still no one would go on vacation with me. So, when I saw an article written by you in the newspaper about this small oral device that would keep my airway open while I slept, I knew I wanted to try it.

I came to your office and was fitted for my TAP in the spring of 2008. The first night I put it in my mouth, I noticed a difference and I knew it would help me breathe.

Over this past summer, I took many overnight trips and I shared rooms with different people, many of whom complained about my snoring in the past and said they would not sty with me again. But now, no one complains! Well, maybe that's not true, but no one has complained about my snoring. I just slept quietly. I breathe in and out. I don't choke or gasp for air. I feel like I am free to sleep wherever I want. If I think I might stay over, I take a toothbrush and my TAP. It is small enough to fit in my purse. There is no preparation involved. When I am ready to sleep, I pop it in my mouth and I doze off. This device has made an enormous difference in my life.

I sleep better and feel better than I have in a very long while. I wake feeling rested as I should after a night of sleep. I do not have headaches in the morning.

I am so grateful to you and your staff. Your service to me has been professional and thorough. Your staff is caring and courteous.

Thanks for all your help,

Daria

I consider myself very fortunate to have Dr. James Hogg as my dentist. I attended a seminar on sleep apnea that he conducted and was immediately impressed with his enthusiasm and his knowledge about the oral appliances available to those suffering from the condition. He has a dynamic personality and genuinely cares about his patients. He is always available for consultation and to answer any questions. Since I have been wearing my appliance, I have had the best sleep in years.
